W: Oh, my goodness! Where is she now?

M: Thanks. I just got it yesterday.
W: Oh, so you finally made up your mind. What is it, the new Ford?
M: No, it’s last year’s model.
W: How much did you pay?
M: $24,500. It only has 10,000 miles on it.
W: No wonder it looks like new. Does that mean you don’t have to take the train to work any-more?
M: Yes! It’ll be nice to drive to work. Want to go for a ride?
W: Sure!

W: Hello! What can I do for you?
M: Hi!I bought this stereo last month, but there’s a problem with it.
W: Could you tell me what the problem is?
M: Well, it doesn’t work; it can’t play CDs. I don’t know why.
W: Sorry for all the trouble. Let me have a look. Hmm ... I can’t see what might be wrong. Oh, do you have your receipt with you?
M: Yes, here you are.
W: Thank you. Do you want your money back, or would you like to exchange it?
M: I think I’d like to just get another one, please.
W: OK. Here’s a receipt for store credit. Just take it back to the stereo section and one of our sales-men will help you.
M: Thanks a lot.

M: Hello, Sophia! My gosh! How long has it been? Wasn’t it five years ago that we graduated?
W: I think you’re right. How are you doing? Are you married?
M: Yes, and I have a one-year-old boy. How about you?
W: Still single, nothing special. Tell me more about your wife.
M: She is a housewife, though recently she’s been going to night school on Mondays and Thurs-days. She’s studying French now. Last year she studied typing and sewing. I think she just enjoys going to school. Next it’ll probably be cooking.
W: How nice for her. Oh, I’m sorry, I’ve got to rush. Say hello to Mrs. White for me.
M: I sure will. Bye.
