1. take a seat / be seated 就座；请坐
（1）Won't you take a seat?
请坐好，好吗？
（2）There were chairs, but no one motioned her to be seated.
旁边有椅子，但是没有人示意她坐下来。
2. take one's place 取代
（1）I can't be on duty tonight, would you please take my place?
今晚我不能出乘了, 麻烦你替我一次好 吗 ?

5. take up 开始从事； 接受（提议）； 占用
（1）I can take up to four people in my car.
我的汽车最多能坐四个人。
（2）It is not difficult to take up a new career in midlife.
人到中年开始新的事业并不难。
