Ask the students to pronounce the words and expressions themselves. Read them out  one by one and see whether they are right or not. Then teacher correct.

Step Ⅲ Warming Up

Work in pairs and discuss the questions in Warming up.

Show the Types of jobs at English newspaper

Present the following chart to the students on the screen.

The second period

 Step Ⅰ Lead-in

Greet the whole class as usual. And then tell the students what we do in this lesson.

Step 2. Fast Reading

Get the students to do fast reading. go through the whole passage as fast as you can and try to find answers to the following three questions.

1. Could Zhou Yang go out on a story alone immediately? Why (not)?

2. What mistakes must he avoid?

3. How did Zhou Yang feel on his first day at work?

A couple of minutes later check the answers with the whole class.

Step 3 Comprehending

Get the students to go through the passage again then work in pairs .discuss and do exercises 1,2. in Comprehending on page 27. Ask each group to tell their answers and  the teacher check the answers.
