On November 4, 2008, Barack Obama, the Deomcratic presidential candidate of the United States, beat his opponent, John McCain, and was elected the 56th president of the U.S. Obama is the first African-American president in American history.
2008年11月4日，美国民主党总统候选人贝拉克 奥巴马击败了对手约翰麦凯恩成为第56届总统。他是美国历史上首位非洲裔总统。
Thunderstruck （雷）
Thunderstruck is Internet slang popular among netizens. Originally from a dialect in the northeast of Zhejiang Province, it means “stumble” or “crash.” The word has evolved to mean “faint” or “being too surprised to comment” in China’s contemporary Internet vocabulary.
这个词是08年流行于网民中间的俚语，最初是浙江省东北部的方言，意为“绊”“倒”。后来就有了类似于“晕”或“吓一跳”的意思。

Originally referring to the stronghold of robbers in the mountains, Shanzhai is now often used to describe copycat brands without independent R&D capacity, which survive in the market by producing goods similar to those of big brands. This is now regarded as a social culture of anti-mainstream grassroots.
本意指山上强盗的老窝，现在的意思是盲目的模仿牌子货。缺乏独立的研发（research and development）能力，靠模仿那些大品牌的产品在市场中立足。现在也被看成是反主流的草根社会文化。
