Second, do not use the lab without having your teacher with you. Third, do not touch anything in the cupboards or on the shelves. Never taste the substances in the bottles and containers. Questions 14 through 16 are based on the following passage.
Americans eat breakfast and lunch quickly unless it is a social, business or family occasion. The evening meal is usually longer and a time for family to gather together. Rushing through daytime meals is part of the fast pace in America. Another reason for rushing through daytime meals is that many people eat in restaurants that are usually crowded with people waiting for a place, so that they too can be served and return to work at the proper time. So each one hurries to make room for the next person. As with busy people everywhere, there is a real difference between meals that are eaten in a hurry and those that can be enjoyed slowly with friends.
Questions:
14. What time would be the least busy time to eat in a restaurant?
15. How many reasons are mentioned in the passage for Americans to rush through their daytime meals?
16. On which occasion do Americans eat breakfast and lunch quickly?

You see, I’ve been lucky in that I’ve lived in Europe. Believe me, I didn’t speak very well before I moved there.
M: You’re right. After studying a language, practice is very useful.
W: I always go to movies, and whenever I can, I watch TV or listen to the radio in the language I’m trying to learn.
M: But I think without some knowledge of the language first, you can’t understand all these.
W: Sure, first it’s a good idea to study grammar, vocabulary…
