1. about，some，nearly，or so，more or less
这些词都表示“大约”，“左右”，“上下”：
The road is more or less 2,000 meters long. 这条路长两千米左右。
The body weights 3.5 kilograms or so. 这个婴儿重3.5千克左右。
It is some ten feet tall. 它有十英尺左右高。
The boy is about 9 years old. 那男孩约九岁。
2. more than，above，over，odd
这些词表示“多于”，“以上”：
He has been in Shanghai for over two years. 他来上海两年多了。
The coat cost me $100 odd. 这件衣服花了我一百多美元。
The bag is over 70 pounds. 这个袋子重70磅以上。
This is for people above 60. 这是为六十岁以上的人准备的。
3. less than, under, below
这些词表示“不足”，“以内”，“少于”：
The coat was below $10. 那费用在十美元以下。
He ran 5,000 meters in under 15 minutes. 他在十五分钟之内跑完了五千米。
He earns less than $500 a month. 他每月赚钱不足五百美元。
"The boy is about 9 years old."中的“about”是什么意思？
